Ok, so I finally got my journal working without the f*cking IE6.0 bug which causes horizontal scrollbars to appear when you didn’t ask for it. If anyone ever faces this problem, here’s the solution:
A frame contains an XHTML document will always display its vertical and horizontal scrollbar simultaneously. This annoying bug/feature doesn’t exist in other browsers (including earlier versions of IE). I have tracked down the cause of the problem to the XHTML DOCTYPE declaration, which is now replaced by the HTML 4.01 DOCTYPE declaration. The contents of those XHTML documents, however, are remain to be XHTML.
